Consortium final meeting on 8th October 2015, in Paris, France

The official event of the TINN2 FP7 European Research Project was organised by Inserm-Transfert on 8th October 2015 in Paris (France).

This meeting gathered together all TINN2 partners for presenting and discussing the latest progresses within TINN2 activities, a project on preclinical studies and paediatric investigation plans for children, under the coordination of the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Inserm).

Mario Negri Institute

The “ Mario Negri ” Institute is the main Italian, private, non-profit research foundation. Since 1963, its main activities have focused on cardiovascular, renal and psychiatric/neurological diseases and cancer, but over time it has adapted its research areas to patients’ needs and to technological progress.

Four broad areas characterize the Laboratory for Mother and Child Health: the monitoring and epidemiological evaluation of the rational use and effects of drugs and vaccines, research methods in hospital and paediatric community practice, public health determinants of children’s health and well-being, and transfer of health information to the community.

Dr. Bonati is the Head of the Department of Public Health and the Laboratory for Mother and Child Health, as well as the Director of the Regional Drug Information Center, and editor of Ricerca & Pratica. His main research activity is related to the promotion, planning and monitoring of epidemiological evaluations of drug utilization and effects in the paediatric and perinatal period. He carries out part of this work also as advisor for the World Health Organization. In the 2000-2005 period he was Co-ordinator of the European Cooperative Study: the 5th Framework Programme Quality of life and Management of Living Resources “Development of the European register of clinical trials on medicines for children” (DEC-net). In 1987-1992 he was Co-ordinator of the International Cooperative Study of Drug Use in Pregnancy, under the auspices of WHO and the support of EU. Since 2006 he has been Co-ordinator of the Italian Drug Agency’s “Farmaci e bambini” (Drugs and children) workgroup’s scientific committee.
